Plans to redevelop the site of St Andrew's Anglican Church at Lane Cove (Lane Cove & Mowbray Churches) have been unanimously endorsed by the Sydney North Planning Panel, with the site set to become home to upgraded ministry space, vital community facilities and much-needed new housing.
From initial concept direction to client-side development management, stakeholder coordination and DA submission, SDG has been there every step of the way alongside fantastic project partners Traders In Purple, Sydney Anglican Property and Plus Architecture. SDG will continue its client-side role until operations commence.
The approved plans for the site in the heart of Lane Cove village include:
- 47 new apartments, in a mix of three and two bedroom layouts.
- A 400+ seat auditorium for use by community groups such as a local bands, dance troupes and theatre companies.
- Brand new, fit-for-purpose ministry facilities for LCM Churches.
- Extensive car parking.
SDG's Managing Director, Richard Ollerhead said the approval is hugely encouraging and reflects an outstanding collaboration.
"SDG is all about activating church property for the good of the congregation and for the good of the community. This project is a perfect example.
"The need for additional housing supply is well reported but we also know that community groups have been crying out for extra performance space in Lane Cove for some time, so we're pleased to be able to meet both those needs.
"And to do so while also delivering contemporary ministry facilities for current and future generations so that gospel ministry is supported and equipped in Lane Cove for years to come is a real privilege.
"Achieving an approval alongside such outstanding project partners makes our work a real joy. We're looking forward to playing our part in progressing this fantastic project through to completion."
