Community renewal in the centre of Five Dock

SDG is partnering with Sydney Anglican Property (SAP) on an important urban renewal initiative at St Alban’s Anglican Church, strategically located adjacent to the future Five Dock Metro Station. Acting as project advisers, SDG has facilitated the appointment of leading developer Traders In Purple (TIP) to progress the proposed mixed-use development.

The project involves the sensitive restoration of the heritage-listed St Alban’s Church while introducing new ministry facilities, high-quality housing, retail and office spaces, and publicly accessible open space. Capitalising on the site’s exceptional location, the development will support the church’s long-term ministry objectives while meeting growing community and housing needs in the area.

SDG is currently assisting with stakeholder engagement, project coordination, and planning advice to help shape a proposal that balances heritage, ministry, and community outcomes. Once delivered, the St Alban’s project will be a strong example of how underutilised church land can be activated to serve both gospel mission and neighbourhood benefit in a changing urban landscape.
