SDG played a key role in both the acquisition and construction management of Hunter Bible Church’s newest location in Garden Suburb, marking a major milestone for the HBC family of churches. This project was driven by HBC’s vision to establish a permanent home that could accommodate its growing congregation and serve members and visitors well. Through SDG’s expertise, the church secured an ideal site in Newcastle's West. The acquisition process, guided by strategic negotiation and financial planning, enabled HBC to purchase the property outright, setting a strong foundation for development.
SDG’s involvement in construction management ensured a smooth delivery of the project, overseeing contractor coordination, cost control, project timeline, and design refinements. This approach resulted in significant cost savings whilst enhancing the functionality of the space. The outcome is a purpose-built facility that supports worship, ministry, and community outreach.
Opened in August 2024, the new site serves as a dynamic and contemporary church hub, featuring a revitalised and expanded auditorium, informal meeting and training lounges, a café, kitchen, and dedicated break-out spaces. With this new facility, HBC can now host ministries that were previously unfeasible in temporary spaces, such as dedicated youth programs, midweek community gatherings, and expanded outreach initiatives. The project highlights the impact of strategic site selection and effective project management in delivering faith-based infrastructure that fosters community engagement and long-term sustainability.
