Affordable Housing Development
Delivering safe, secure homes for women and families through church land revitalisation.

SDG has partnered with Sydney Anglican Property (SAP) and Anglicare Sydney to deliver a transformative social housing project in Regents Park, designed to meet the urgent need for safe, secure housing in Sydney’s south-west. This project has successfully reached contractual close under Round 1 of the Federal Government’s Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF) in 2025, thanks to SDG’s extensive leadership across site evaluation, funding submissions, project partner coordination, and strategic engagement with Housing Australia.

Located on the site of a former Anglican Church, the project will deliver 74 social housing apartments for women aged over 55 and families affected by domestic violence. Designed by Plus Architecture, these new homes offer long-term safety, security, and stability for people who need it most.

The project features a contemporary, six-storey residential building that prioritises wellbeing and connection. In addition to the apartments, over 500 square metres of communal space, including a rooftop terrace, will be provided. This is intended to encourage social interaction and host activities facilitated by Anglicare Sydney and the local church community.

This project exemplifies SDG’s commitment to activating underutilised church property for lasting community impact. SDG continues to lead the planning process and manage a team of consultants to ensure the proposal is sensitive to its neighbourhood context while delivering high-quality outcomes. Anglicare Sydney will operate the housing and provide wrap-around services to residents.
