Fred is a highly experienced architect whose passion is designing spaces that enable people to develop meaningful relationships. Over the past 30 years, he has applied this passion to building project for the church, as an extension of his own faith, and in 2016 wrote "Making Property Serve Mission”, a guidebook for church leaders, which he is currently updating. Fred offers this vast experience to SDG through consultancy services on our Victorian-based projects.
Fred studied architecture at Oxford and was Principal of a UK architecture practice for 15 years prior to emigrating to Australia. During this time, he worked on new buildings and refurbishment projects for Oxford University Colleges, together with the thorough refurbishment and extension of buildings for St. Aldate’s Church in central Oxford. This heritage building is now used by the church for many events throughout the week.
In Australia, his architecture practice, Studio B, has specialised in working with church communities of all denominations to make their property effective for their mission. Fred is committed to clear presentation to clients, ensuring that they fully understand design proposals and their potential benefit.
